The Real Threshold for COB Conference Room Displays Isn’t in the Spec Sheet Release Time:2026-10-18

COB is crossinga line in conference room applications more consequential than pixel pitch: itis moving from a project-by-project custom build to a professional displayproduct selected from standardized cabinets and pitch matrices.

The price signal is unambiguous. Average fine-pitch COB pricing has fallen from roughly RMB18,000/m² in 2023 to RMB 9,800/m², settling below the RMB 10,000 threshold for the first time. In the first half of 2026, COB exceeded 50% of fine-pitch LED sales value, with forecasts pointing to 63.9% by Q3. Once the price gap between COB and SMD narrows to “pay a little more for something better,” the core purchasing question for conference rooms shifts from whether to adopt COB to which pitch, which cabinet, and how to install.

This shift matters especially in conference rooms. Demand there is inherently standardized: viewing distances are relatively fixed, screen sizes fall within a defined range, and brightness and gray scale requirements concentrate in the low-brightness, high-gray scale segment. COB displays in these spaces were historically delivered as custom projects—long lead times, opaque quotes. As COB cabinet specifications converge and pitch matrices mature, integrators and end users can select by model directly, moving procurement from “doing a project” to “choosing a product.”

The Focono COB Series spans five pitches from P0.625 to P1.5625, with a 28 mm cabinet and front-access-only design that allows flush wall mounting—squarely within the mainstream pitch range for conference room COB displays. When the buying decision shifts from customization to selection, the pitch matrix itself becomes the entry ticket to this market.
